Estimating Manager - Qatar Job

A multinational engineering & construction company is currently looking for a highly qualified 

Estimating Manager
Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Estimates labor and material costs of production and engineering in response to Request for Proposals 
  • and Tender Documents submitted by prospective customers. 
  • Analyzes specifications, including sketches, blueprints, bills of material, bills of quantities, general and particular conditions of contract. 
  • Calculates costs using labor and material pricing schedules and historical data: Collects cost data from subcontractors and vendors: Computes cost estimates of raw materials or subcontracted work and labor. 
  • Prepares bid tabs and cost comparisons of vendors and suppliers. 
  • Prepares and maintains historical cost data. 
  • Creates cost models for estimating elements prepares cost reports and presents findings to management.
Training and Experiences:
  • Minimum 8 years of Estimating experience in MEP and building services Engineering, Management and Construction
  • Minimum 8 years experience using and integrated estimating software system preferably SEC. other minimum / preferred qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Construction Mgmt or combination of related degree and project experience;
  • Experience in all phases of project execution including Engineering, Procurement, Constructio, management, System start-up and commissioning, management and operations; 
  • Must have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Must be willing to travel as needed.
  • Lead a core team of estimators and other technical personnel 
Other Essential Functions:
  • Facilitate estimate kick-off meeting with Project Team;
  • Develop and maintain standard material and labor units
  • Develop Estimate Plans and the Basis of Estimate;
  • Obtain relevant Direct Labor productivity and norms for estimating, Compiles the estimates and associated pricing including those for incremental project work packages and project changes affecting the total installed cost of the project 
  • Work with the Engineering and design discipline leads and project teams
  • Provides explanations of significant differences and appropriate benchmark data;
  • Conducts cost risk analysis as appropriate for type of estimate 
  • Structures estimates to reflect implemented cost coding per Project Execution Plan and WBS
  • Facilitates discipline estimate review meeting;
  • Conduct spot checks/audits of material take offs
  • Ability to estimate various scopes of work and services using a variety of parametric models like OOM, Unit Measure, and conceptual analysis.
  • Capable of estimating different types of contract models like Cost plus, Stipulated Lump Sum and GMP
  • Prepares Technical and Commercial Proposals
  • Maintain a database of estimating information to allow statistical analysis; and Other duties as assigned.
