Req: Senior Linux Admin
Loc: Lexington/KY
Duration: 12 months+
Rate: $45/hr on c2c or $40/hr on w2

Requirements:
• Requires BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and 5+ years experience.
• Requires strong Linux, software engineering and communication skills, as well strong shell programming skills and experience in Python or PHP programming.
• Strong background in networking and multi-tasking operating systems is required along with a strong understanding of NIS.
• Support experience
• Experience planning and implementing large-scale system/application upgrades is required.
• Knowledge of Software Configuration Management is required.
Responsibilities:
• Support Linux workstations and servers, ensuring build systems are continuously available.
• Plan and execute Linux operating system deployments for the firmware area.
• Manage a 500+ workstation and server network with Spacewalk and Red Hat Satellite Server.
• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain solutions to support storage, infrastructure services, and access rights management.
• Work closely with local and remote firmware development to define, test and deploy proprietary and open source software solutions based on user demand
• Support a Tier 3 data center, monitoring cooling systems and coordinating maintenance/repair, documenting associated emergency shut-down and recovery procedures.
• Participate in resolving critical tool or system issues, which might span tools and infrastructure, either taking the lead or assisting other team members in problem analysis and resolution.
• Define Linux workstation and server standards and manage hardware for firmware organization:
• Develop, review, and maintain comprehensive documentation on configuration, rebuild, recovery of all systems.
• Train new team members (both local and remote) and transfer and transfer knowledge to other team members on new functionality.
• Work with team members and project manager to prioritize deliverables, raise concerns when risk arise, report status.
• Comply with existing procedures and standards, such as coding standards, peer review, testing, release-notes and documentation processes.
