Client is building and enhancing an existing web based system involving multiple user interfaces, functionality and a variety of backend activities. Programmer will be responsible for new software development including defect repair, system updates, application enhancements, as well as producing and updating technical documentation. Position works as part of a programming team.
Mandatory Experience:
1. IT application development with JAVA Development Kit (JDK 1.5 and above).
2. Eclipse or Rational Application Developer (RAD) experience.
3. Experience with Java Server Faces (JSF).
4. Experience programming with Java Server Pages (JSP)/Servlets.
5. Experience with database programming techniques.
Associated Skills:
1. Experience in IBM WebSphere Portal Development
2. Experience with Hibernate
3. Experience in Release Management to include developing release notes and tagging.
4. Experience with implementing and consuming web services in a services-oriented architecture
5. Experience in technical testing (i.e. unit, regression, performance etc.)
6. Test-driven development experience with a solid understanding of code coverage
7. Strong interpersonal skills to include written and verbal communication
8. Demonstrated problem solving skills
9. Passion for following industry standard practices in Java development
