Job Description:
Want to be part of one of the web's fastest growing hobbies? Ancestry.com is looking for an experienced Front End Web Developer to serve as a liaison between the Design and Development groups. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of JavaScript and will have the ability to take detailed mockups from the Design team and turn them into pixel-perfect, CSS-based static and dynamic HTML pages.

Key Responsibilities / Performance Requirements:
Generate pixel-perfect web pages from high fidelity mock ups created in Photoshop and Fireworks.
Assets to be regularly produced include product features, banners, landing pages, website pages and HTML/Text emails to promote our products and services.
The candidate will feel comfortable working with various individuals and groups including external creative agencies, internal creative teams, marketing, development, and UI and be passionate about combining great design and solid code.
Ability to hand-code semantic, efficient, standards-compliant XHTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
Ability to effectively use JavaScript frameworks like YUI and jQuery libraries.
Appreciation for design, usability, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility concerns.
Serve as a liaison between the Design and Development groups, as well as the resident "expert" for all CSS, JavaScript, Flash, XHTML, and other Web questions and issues.
Your ability to interpret a mockup, attention to detail and ability to take ownership of key projects will be particularly important.
Self-motivated with the ability to manage and deliver on multiple projects at once.

Required Skills:
Sharp front-end programming HTML/XHTML, CSS and JavaScript skills combined with an eye for simplicity and user experience will serve as the foundation for success in this role.
Experience with Flash/ActionScript, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator and other design tools will open up additional opportunities for handling fun and interesting work.
Some experience with C# and ASP.Net is desirable.
An educated and extensive knowledge of usability and interactive design demonstrated through your portfolio.
To ensure that Ancestry web interfaces look and perform as the concept design intends and are as smoothly delivered to the Development group as possible.
