We are building our West Coast Software group in SF and we need someone who is very "hands on" in areas of "White Box" Testing, Test Automation, and skills dealing with Microsoft Technologies .net/C# other areas of expertise. As we build our SW group this role will take on additional responsibilities of project lead and be intimately in involved in building the group.
Ancestry.com is the world's largest online resource for family history. We have helped pioneer the market for online family history research, taking a pursuit that was expensive and time-consuming and making it easy, affordable and accessible to anyone with an interest in their family history. The foundation of our service is an extensive collection of billions of historical records that we have digitized, indexed and put online over the past 13 years. These digital records and documents, combined with our proprietary online search technologies, tools and collaboration features, have enabled our more than one million subscribers to create nearly 16 million family trees that contain nearly 1.6 billion profiles, and make meaningful discoveries about the lives of their ancestors.
Ancestry has more then doubled its stock price in the last year. We are building a core SW development group in SF, going from 15 individuals to 35+. Engineers working in QA are an important part of the development team and are responsible for creating test strategies, writing test plans and managing small teams that write test plans, designing automated testing systems, and implementing robust test automation. Responsibilities include reporting problems and advocating for code fixes, identifying bug patterns, and supporting sound engineering processes and practices.
Sr Software Quality Assurance Engineer (Must have programming knowledge in either Java, C, C++ or C# for this role)
Required Skills
Responsible for testing efforts on the projects
Participates in project development and iteration planning processes
Coordinates development and creation of test cases for QA Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Performs testing and logs results
Provides regular status updates to Project Manager, updates iteration backlog
Required Experience
BS in Computer Science or equivalent
Minimum 3 years of software development experience
Knowledge of software development and software testing lifecycles
Familiar with TDD paradigm and QA aspects of it
Fluent with .NET based test automation frameworks (NUnit, VS Test, etc)
Good coding skills in C#
Passionate about quality and software testing
Experience with test automation, test tool creation, automation framework is a plus
Knowledge of the .NET Framework is preferred
Familiarity with Agile (XP, Scrum, etc) project execution a bonus
