Human Resources/Safety Manager
Location: Moonachie, NJ
Locals preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish to assist with management and implementation of Human Resource and plant safety activities, such as policy development, employment, compensation, benefits, labor relations, training, Safety training, regulatory compliance, workers compensation and other employee services. Will work with both local and Corporate Management to fulfill corporate vision.
Reports to: Plant Manager
• Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
• Manages plant safety programs to include all required safety training schedules, safety committee meetings, and plant safety surveys.
• Coordinating with corporate HR, assists with benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating benefit information to employees.
• Set and maintain control records, employee files, job description etc. as required for effective personnel administration, including but not limited to I-9's, applicant tracking data, and Affirmative Action Plan information.
• Conducts recruitment efforts for all employee at site, conducts new employee orientations, writes and place advertisements. Manages company's relationship with temporary employment agencies.
• Handles employee training, relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviews.
• Maintains compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations concerning employment and personnel matters (including but not limited to Worker's Comp, Unemployment, OSHA, etc.).
• Participates as the manager of the safety team evaluating accident reports for accuracy and completeness. Assists in conducting investigations and interviewing witnesses and procurement of relevant documentation.
Requirements:
• Bilingual – English/Spanish a must.
• BA in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Business or closely related field or PHR/SPHR Certification combined with progressive responsibility and experience in HR positions.
• Minimum of 3 years of management responsibility in all areas of Human Resources.
• Minimum of 5 years of plant manufacturing experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Recruiting, interviewing and placement skills required.
• Strong conflict resolution/coaching and counseling experience.
• Proven ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Strong Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook skills.
• Experience and knowledge of ADP Enterprise, and E-Time strongly preferred.
• Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
• Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.
